Lordsburg presents bicycle to boy with Cerebral Palsy

The Lordsburg Elks Lodge #1813, with the help of the New Mexico Cerebral Palsy Commission, was able to make the day of a local boy afflicted with CP. Manny Turner, 11, attended a Bicycle Rodeo hosted by the Lordsburg Elks on June 27, 2015. He was happily surprised when the local CP committee presented him with a brand new handicap accessible bicycle that he was able to take home. Turner often uses a similar bike at school for therapeutic purposes, but has never had a bicycle of his own. He enjoyed maneuvering through the course with his grandmother and guardian, Theresa Meza. Cerebral Palsy is the state major project of the New Mexico Elks Association and the Lordsburg Elks Lodge is traditionally a top supporter of the project in the Southwest District. Ticket sales are ongoing and will be accepted until the first regular meeting in September. The drawing will be at the Fall Workshop in Albuquerque on September 26.
