There are only two first place winners each year, and MANY ELks Lodges...Lodi Lodge #1900 and our long-time, hard-working Scholarship Chairman Lee Taylor, were proud that Megan Spenser, a very hard-working student and all-round great girl, was chosen to receive the 1st place 4-year Elks National Scholarship for $60,000.
Lodi Lodge will host a fundraiser for Megan on 21 June 2008 to help defray costs for Megan and her mom and sister not already covered for Grand Lodge, and to add to her fun (Disneyland) etc. with the generous help of the Central District. Past Grand Exalted Ruler Jim Grillo, other dignitaries and many Elks will attend the fundraiser, and PGER Grillo and California-Hawaii Association President Jerry Rucker will present Megan with her scholarship in the closing ceremony at Grand Lodge in Anaheim, CA.
Lodi Lodge will hold a raffle to generate funds to send Lee Taylor to Anaheim for Megan's Presentation ceremony.
