Erie Vets Committee

Erie, PA Lodge #67 partnered again with the V A Medical Center,
Erie, PA, Department of Social Services to provide Veterans and their families,
a take home complete Thanksgiving dinner basket. Erie Lodge will draw upon the
partnership we have with a local grocer to assist in providing price support in
order to maximize the amount of food in the baskets. Lodge members will be
coordinating these efforts, packing these baskets and delivering them to the VA
Med Center, Erie, PA. Due to HIPA regulations, Lodge members are not permitted
to know the families, but can be and will be there to assist in distribution of
the baskets. The VA Medical Center Department of Social Services completed a
list of Veterans and their families who are in need, and most likely would not
have this traditional holiday meal in the privacy of their own homes without
Elk’s involvement. Currently there are 110 baskets needed.  ENF CIP Freedom Grant was used to help subsidize the cost of the event.
