Smithtown Elks Celebrate Flag Day
The event began outside the Lodge, with comments from Smithtown Supervisor Edward Wehrheim. Music was provided by the students of Smithtown High School West, who performed a medley of patriotic songs.
Following the outdoor activities, the group moved into the Lodge for a formal ceremony that focused on the evolution of the Flag of United States. This included display and discussion of the several flags that have at various times represented our nation.
Flag Day
ceremonies are conducted at all Elks Lodges throughout the nation. The members
of Smithtown Lodge 2036 are proud to be a part of these celebrations to honor
our flag.
