The Douglas Elks Lodge 955 held a Casino Night on February 19th benefitting the lodge. All the guests in attendance had their best poker faces on and were eyeing the prizes they envisioned leaving with. There was poker, blackjack, roulette, slot scratchers and even a wheel of chance game inviting them all to try their luck. The atmosphere was relaxed, but with serious focus on beating the house and leaving with the prized auction possessions as their winnings. The auction items all donated by lodge members covered a large gamut of options including vintage signs, gift baskets, clothing, ice chest, cooking items, hand fabricated metal items, knitted scarves and beanies, baked goods, pottery from Cochise College Pit Fire, household decorations, and the list continues. Several of the items selling for over 100 dollars each. The event raised over thirteen hundred dollars.
We would like to thank all the members who donated auction items, volunteered, and participated to make this event successful. The lodge is only as successful as its members who make everything possible with their generosity and time.
