Elks 2751  Vets service       (updated 09 17 2021 )

Helping vets in cumberland county.

Today, 8 September 2021, I had the honor to deliver a couch, love seat, 2 beds, chair, carpet, pots & pans, dishes, linen, quilts, and significantly more to a family who had ONE bed.

Their Smiles as bright as the sun, gratitude unmistakably edged on their faces

What made this donation unique, the husband a 9/11 policeman, a survivor who responded to the devastating fall of the twin towers now laden with grief, cancer felt the need to give back to veterans who are struck down to rubble themselves.

There is no greater satisfaction; to give the gift of hope. Their donation provided this couple promise, a home without empty floors; optimism for a brighter future.

Respectfully

Angie Lamie

Elks also have grants programs:

Just one of the Grants in 2021,

Shop with a cop, Cumberland County Animal Shelter, Cumberland County Hospice and the Young Marines.

Shop with a cop is a function of the local FOP and provides a shopping experience for needy children in the community to obtain needed school supplies and clothing.

The Cumberland County Animal Shelter serves the community by providing shelter and vet service for abandoned and stray animals as well as a pet adoption service.

Cumberland County Hospice provides free home care for the terminally ill in the community. A service which, regrettably, a number of our members have had to avail themselves of.

The Young Marine is a youth organization which is based on the military organization it is named for. It instills discipline and patriotism in the its members.

And so much more!!!
