Kearney ELK's Lodge 984 has teamed up with the City of Kearney Sanitation Division to help expand the open hours of the new Restore, This is part of the new Households Hazardous Waste Facility. Located at 3620 Box Butte Ave.
The Elk's will man the Restore side of the facility on the first and third Saturdays of the month from April thru October, 8am till 12 nooon. They will also offer help to folks as needed to load or unload waste in the proper containers. The normal hours of Monday thru Friday 8am to 4:30pm will remain the same with a slight wait for someone to come to Restore when you ring the bell.
If you have household and yard products that are in good condition and still clearly labled, that you wish to get rid of. Bring them to the Restore and they will be shelved and there for anyone who may need that product to come pick up "free of charge".
The Elk's would like to thank Steve Hart and Shauna Petzoid who came up with this great idea and convenced the city to build. Anything we can do to keep more of these products out of landfills and used properly is a good thing.
