Exalted Ruler Rich Lalomia's January, 2018 Message

I hope everyone had an opportunity to spend time with family and friends this past holiday season. It feels like it just sped by just as fast as it was upon us. Now we are on to a new year.

We paid tribute and remembered the great brother Elks that departed us this past year at the annual Memorial Sunday Ritual. Trustee Ken Rothwell gave a very touching oration to the members and guests and the Long Island Sound Chorus Sweet Adeline’s provided us with beautiful music.

Also, Santa Claus was able to make a special visit to our Lodge and give out some early Christmas presents to some well deserving kids and grandkids. A big thank you to Leading Knight Dave Raynor and the Southampton Fire Department for bringing Santa to the Lodge in style!

It’s almost time for me to hand the reigns off to the next Exalted Ruler. We are in need of members to participate in the operation of the Lodge. There are several officer positions that need to be filled and many committee posts. Over this past year I seen the hard work that a handful of dedicated Elks put in to ensure we have a functioning Lodge. I hope to appeal to some members to step up and participate in what we do. Please stop by the Lodge on Friday January 19 from 6pm to 8pm for some good food and to find out what opportunities are available.
