DUNKIRK ELKS LODGE #1776 - MARCH & APRIL NEWSLETTER

From our Exalted Ruler:

Hello to everyone,

March is upon us, the year is moving rapidly.  One thing I have learned over

the last couple of months is to remember to take time to enjoy life.  Be with your families every chance you get!  Take care of yourself.  “Happiness is an inside job!”

Soon the tulips will be popping up, and everything will turn green showing us the difference of our seasons.  Everyone and everything can be the “DIFFERENCE IN MAKING THINGS HAPPEN!”

In saying this, we should all be proud of our lodge.  We were able to present Second Harvest Food Bank Mobile Market with a check for $4000.  This $4,000 almost pays for the whole year of a monthly distribution in Dunkirk.  We were told it takes $5000 per year per community, serving approximately 100 families each month.  This was made possible through a grant from Elks National Foundation. Thank you to everyone who contributes, we exceed our per-capita every year and as your ER that makes me look very good in the eyes of those above me.  Although next year we have other great ideas we hope to pursue with those funds, this year we certainly made a difference to those families in our community who struggle for the basics.

NEW HOURS:  We have new hours, Tuesday through Friday, from 4pm to 8pm. Saturday 4pm to 9pm.  We will have specials from time to time & offer cooking off the grill to feed our guests Wednesday through Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. Tuesdays will still be our DINNER NIGHT, and I hope it continues to be a success! Come get involved.  WE NEED ALL OF YOU!

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES:  2026-2027 Dues can be paid online (with a small free), mailed in, or dropped off and given to the bartender on duty.  Deadline April 1st.  If you still owe last year and don’t pay by March 29th you will be dropped from membership.  Please don’t let this happen.  We do have options and do NOT want to lose any of you.  Asking for a demit puts your status on hold rather than dropping you.  Lots of good things are happening here at the lodge.  You need

to be a part of it.
