Dunkirk Elks 1776 - NEWSLETTER for SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2025 - Thank You, from your Exalted Ruler, Vicky May & Secretary, Cindy Shepherd
NEWSLETTER for SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2025
Hello Everyone,
Hope you all have a great and fun Labor Day weekend...
WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING:
Sept & Oct will be the beginning of our busy months, time to put the summer things
away, rake leaves and prep for winter, while watching a lil Football. Don’t forget to
make time for the Euchre and Bowling tournaments you will see scheduled below.
It’s a great time to relax and enjoy life a little with your friends at the lodge.
The Golf cart drawing was on 8-16, the winner was member Dru Hall, Congratulations
Dru! The golf cart was donated by Greg & Karan Mitchey, with the stipulation we use
the money for a new electronic sign out front. It was an exciting fundraiser, and we
raised more than enough to make our electronic sign dream come true. The units
are here and should be installed very soon. THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE BUYERS
AND THE SELLERS, Greg and Karan!!! We are the Elks, making things happen.
We have tickets for sale at the bar for his and her Smith and Wesson Equalizers &
642 Lady Smith. Tickets are $20 for 1 or $40 for 3. Drawing on Oct 4th, proceeds
go for our incoming State President Angie O’Donnell for the State Presidency fund 2026.
Calling all Seniors go to ENF.ELKS.ORG/MVS for most valuable student Scholarship
worth up to $30,000. Deadline Nov 12th, 2025. More Scholarships to come.
October 3 & 4th is our State Convention in Richmond this year, everyone is welcome
to attend you can go to Indianaelks.org to register.
Something new and exciting coming to our lodge soon, gaming machines like in the Casinos.
We should be eligible for 5, more news to come. This is huge for fraternal nonprofits like us.
The bar-room has seen some changes. We sold the shuffleboard game and moved some things around. Vicky has worked very hard on waxing the floors. The atmosphere and
setting just looks fresh, thank you Vicky!
BREAKFAST – First Saturday of every month. All you can eat! Proceeds to build our Scholarship fund!! September 6th & October 4th we are having a Breakfast Fund
raiser for the Jay County High Rollers Bowling Team. Please come out and have
a nice breakfast and see the bowlers, they are our future.
Weekly Drawing every Saturday and the Monthly Drawing is the second Saturday of
every month. We have had some lucky big winners! You can’t win if you don’t sign!!
EUCHRE, second Saturday of month. BOWLING, fourth Saturday of the month.
