The books — “The Whole-Brain Child” and “My Body Is Special and Private” — will be available to children and their families who come to Juliette’s House for help. “The message we give is that this comes from our community,” Schrader said. “When people walk through the doors feeling overwhelmed and frightened, we’re saying our community is here for you — not just Juliette’s House, but all of us, from Willamina to Newberg.” Mark said the gift cards help meet immediate needs, including food or gas, while families are connected with additional resources. “Some might say, what’s a $50 gift card? But it can be transformative for people.”
