Youth Programs

The Elks National Foundations offers many opportunities for the youth’s of our nation. Some of these programs are listed below, but are by no means limited to this list.

Hoop Shoot

The yearly Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program is open to all boys and girls ages 8 through 13. The contest starts at the lodge level and advances through district, state and regional contests before the national finals in the spring.

Soccer Shoot

Soccer is one of the fastest growing youth activities in the country. The Elks Soccer Shoot Program is geared to coincide with this sport phenomenon. This program is the kind of sporting event to help keep our youth focused and away from undesirable activities.

Drug Awareness

The Elks National Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States. The Elks are committed to eliminating the use and abuse of illegal drugs by all members of society and believe that in order to ensure a bright future for our country, it is essential that our children be raised in a drug-free environment.

Veterans Services

The Elks are passionate and focused on helping the Veterans of our great nation. Our history with the Vets is deep and rich. Some of the programs that we are involved with on a national level are listed below. The Grand Rapids Elks #48 are greatly involved with our local VA hospital and participate in many events at the hospital and have the Vets out to our club several times a year to honor them and spend time with people that have sacrificed for our freedom.
