Greetings from Prescott Lodge #330 "Mother Lodge of Arizona". In December of 1895 a group of enterprising businessmen in Prescott, sturdy products of the early west, charted the original petition for a dispensation and later established the Prescott Lodge. Prescott and Prescott Valley, Arizona, are located about 90 miles northwest of Phoenix. With our mile high elevation (5230 ft), the cities enjoy a four-season climate with both mild winters and summers. Check out our page. We have a very content rich site. Featured pages are [Facilites], [Officers], [Elks'n the News], [Extra Pages](includes rich history of our lodge) and especially our [Photo Gallery]. If you have time after looking it over please sign our [Guest Book]. Thank you

Tom Robinson (

Last week I read in the Superior Express Bill Blauvelt's recall of the Elks fire 30 years ago. It reminded me of the night my brother, Robb and Dad and I went down to the Union Hotel for a hamburger; about 1963 I suppose. As we walked down there from the station, we passed by the Elks Lodge. On the outside was a raised letter sign that read B.P.O.E 2197. Your older readers will remember that the Union Hotel was run for many years by Morris and Emma Kilgore. Emma ran a properous coffee shop and dining room in the Hotel.

After we ordered our hamburgers, Dad told Emma Kilgore, that he had finally figured it out. He'd figured out what B.P.O.E meant on the front of the Elks lodge which was next door. I'll never forget this....Big Party Over Emmas!!!. And there was a big party going on that night in the Union Hotel Dining room. She thought that was really funny.

Today I remembered the Express story from last week and thought I would look up what B.P.O.E really means. It is Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, but to me it will always be Big Party Over Emmas. I also learned that you have a nice web site for the Superior Lodge.

Your Lodge has a great website. I hope to do something for Scottsbluff in the next year. It would be nice if all of the NE Lodges could set up a site like yours. Maybe you should have a workshop at one of our upcoming state conventions. I am sure many of us would be interested in the proceedures to get going, I would. I wish all of your members and families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you in January.

Excellent job on your web page. I'm a PER from Grand Island (84-85 I think), now living in Indiana.

I will be sending you an e-mail concerning the Grand Lodge Insurance program. If you agree with it, you might want to pass it on to other Lodges in Nebraska as I don't have email addresses for everyone. Keep up the good work. Best regards... Tim Jones
