Just wanted to drop a line, we are friends with Leo and Lucy Herrmann here in Michigan where they live in summers. We are so saddened to here of Leo's passing this week. They have many friends up here at the legion and the Moose lodge in Dorr Mi.. Just wondering if there was/is any kind of memorial get together at your lodge for Leo. If anyone sees Lucy make sure you say hi from us and tell her we are all thinking of her and look forward to seeing her in person when she returns. If someone could, please reply to my writing at djvandervelde@aaamichigan.com Thanks, Don Vander Velde Hudsonville MI

This Lodge is, for sure, the friendliest, not just in Florida, but anywhere. We've made karaoke Fridays and occasional Tuesdays our Elks night out when I'm in Florida from Pittsburgh, and the people who attend are the nicest people I've met in many years. Before I even showed my card to the bartender, we were welcomed, escorted to a seat, and then made to feel right at home. This Lodge has a whole lot to be proud of, and I'm honored to look at it as my second Lodge away from home.

I am the webmaster for Lake Placid Elks Lodge and was looking for information from your district to se how many lodges have a web site in the SSE district. I was sorry to hear abut the District Reporter Barb Carter passing. She had send the news for this quarter but died a few days later. We will need another reporter for that district for the next newspaper in April. Like your website I guess it's free from the GL Elks.Org, Right?
