I belong to Lodge 1079 in Orlando. That worked out well when I worked downtown and could attend and visit the Lodge. But I haven't been in quite awhile since I don't work downtown any longer. What is the procedure to become a member of Lodge 1830 since it is very close to my home and have desire to being an active member once again.

Thanks for signing our guest book and the invite for the 06 convention, we will be sure to make that visit. I am the immediate PER (my 5th term), my wife followed me in as E.R. after serving as Secretary and Inner Guard. The Princeton Elks are very proud of their work this year, we are closing in on having sent one ton of care packages to our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq since early December as well as over 50 packages of mail. We invite all Elks to visit the website, www.anysoldier.com to find out more on how to send packages to our troops and join us in this great project. Our best wishes for the Winter Park Elks in the coming year!!

Hello to all at BPOE 1830! Its great to see that you have a web site! In the early 1970's my father, Martin R. Barwick, was Exhalted Ruler of 1830... I remember as a child being present at the construction of your current facility... My Dad went on to fount BPOE 2522 in Inverness where they also built a new lodge during my childhood... Dad later served as a DDGER for his district... Being an Elk was one of the most gratifying things my father did. My brother and I were raised in Elkdom. We are truly blessed for this fraternity and the people it brings into our lives.

I received a call from ER Dick that Brother Manny Grzybek and his wife, PMP Betty needed assistance as their house has been severly damaged and condemmed. I attempted to contact several Elk members to render assistance, but ran into a communication problem, i.e., asked Bobbyjoe Waterfield to send out an Email alert, but he was unable to as they had no power. Mary and I were able to get out of our driveway but could not use our street, so I drove thru a neighbors yard, across the golf course property to exit on Eagle Circle. The Grzybek's are in need of some good old Elk's assistance. A large tree came crashing on their home, breaking truss's, etc. The home has been condemmed, and they were packing a suitcase to stay at DOES Madam President Joan Lukawitz home. We asked if we could assist in any way. At this stage of the disaster, Betty said thatin the near future, they may need help moving furniture, pictures, etc. to rental storage spaces. Mary and I drove to the Lodge hoping that someone would be there to help us bag up some ice for the Grzybek's but everything was locked up. Updates to follow....

I understand that Betty and Matt Grzybeck have a huge tree on their house and need a crane to remove it - they are having trouble contacting their insurance company but are OK. Chuck Taber is fine. Ed and I lost the fence in the yard soem screen and some shingles and soffet and a few trees - had the grandchildren all weekend - the inside was worse than outside!
