Rock Anderson (rock@prescottelks.org)

from Prescott, AZ, Lodge #330

Greetings from Prescott Lodge #330 "Mother Lodge of Arizona". In December of 1895 a group of enterprising businessmen in Prescott, sturdy products of the early west, charted the original petition for a dispensation and later established the Prescott Lodge. Prescott and Prescott Valley, Arizona, are located about 90 miles northwest of Phoenix. With our mile high elevation (5230 ft), the cities enjoy a four-season climate with both mild winters and summers. Check out our elks.org page. We have a very content rich elks.org site. Featured pages are [Facilites], [Officers], [Elks'n the News], [Extra Pages](includes rich history of our lodge) and especially our [Photo Gallery]. If you have time after looking it over please sign our [Guest Book]. Thank you

Greetings: My name is (MS.)Melva Spellman. I am researching my family history. According to the Who's Who in Colored America (1933-1937)my Great-Uncle was a member of the Elks Lodge in Newark, New Jersey. The problem is that I don't known which Lodge he belonged to. I have the following information about my uncle.

Name: Thomas H. Wright, Md. Born: Sept. 25,1880 (this might be the wrong year) in Alexandria, La.

Wife: Stella (Windsor) wright (Social Worker). Born: Unknown Died: Aug. 18,1932

Exalted Ruler elks, Newark Lodge from 1926-1937 (?)

Died: May 25,1935

I am trying to find out if the Elks were involved with my uncle's funeral. If so, i would like to know the name of the church and cemetary. I don't know if you could help me with my quest, but I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanking you in advance.

(Ms.) Melva A. Spellman Revere, Ma. (781) 485-9449
