Steve, thank you for keeping us in the family of Elkdom informed of your lodge's endeavors to overcome this trajic event. Tony's untimely death has reminded us all of how fragile life is, and through this website we may found ourselves inspired by the unity and comraderie of our impacted brothers and sisters.
The Elks are distinctively American and have done so much to help our communities overcome natural disasters, disabilities, and promote the stars and stripes and the men and women who fight to protect it. 100 years of Elkdom is truly a remarkable achievement. I enjoyed reading about Tony's dedication to this great order and his family.

I first want to give my deepest regards and sympathy to Sara Jane, Andrew Komer, and the rest of the Komer family, and to all of you in the Elks Lodge and everyone else that Tony has touched through the years.
I went to college with Tony at SMS, which is now Missouri State University, and was in the the Delta Chi Fraternity with Tony. Shortly after Tony was in the fraternity, I also had the pleasure of meeting Sara Jane.
After reading some of the entries in the guestbook, I can see that Tony had the same impact on all of you just like he did with all of us who are Delta Chi's.
Tony was a great guy and also a great brother. Some of the greatest memories while being in the fraternity were with Tony hanging around the house, going out, playing Greek Football and Softball, and also being invited to Tony and Sara's wedding, which was a blast. The wedding was my first visit, but not the last because I also made a visit to the Beaty's farm.
For every one memory that I had with Tony, there are hundreds of other Delta Chi's throughout the US that have the same and even more great memories of Tony. Most of us were from the Missouri and Kansas areas, but some have now moved throughout the US, and I know they share the same memories that I have and more.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tony's wife and children in these recent days following his tragic death. Clearly he was doing all he could to make the initiation a wonderful event. I know too well those stressful moments rehearsing the lines just one more time, before the program begins. Tony was preparing to tell the new candidates that the hands of every Elk on the face of the earth will be streched out in a sprit of friendship and support to releive the distress when adversity and misfortune overtake one. We are meeting tonight and will decide how best to reach out, but I wanted to personally express my sadness for your loss.

An eleventh hour Toast The hour has tolled; now all is still while the gates of memory open wide. For the absent ones our hearts to fill, and again with us abide. Our Souls go soaring out to them, o'er land and sea and grave. To bring them back in thought again and recall the love they gave. Tho' far away in distant land, or beyond the shadows grim. Their faults once written on the sands, are washed away and dim. But their virtues shine like Fidelity's start, to light the wanderer's way. And our fervent prayer is flung afar, May we meet again some day. To: Our Absent Brother Tony

What a small world it is. We are in Minnesota with our son fighting Leukemia and feel a world apart from home in Warrensburg. I work in Clinton, and when I arrived back to our apartment and turned on the TV, there was Clinton Missouri. CNN was running coverage on the rescue efforts and the collapse. I started making phone calls to see if those I knew were injured. While I know none personally, I want to let you know that we will pray for the community who has been supporting us in our battle.
