Rock Anderson (rock@prescottelks.org)

from Prescott, AZ, Lodge #330

Greetings from Prescott Lodge #330 "Mother Lodge of Arizona". In December of 1895 a group of enterprising businessmen in Prescott, sturdy products of the early west, charted the original petition for a dispensation and later established the Prescott Lodge. Prescott and Prescott Valley, Arizona, are located about 90 miles northwest of Phoenix. With our mile high elevation (5230 ft), the cities enjoy a four-season climate with both mild winters and summers. Check out our elks.org page. We have a very content rich elks.org site. Featured pages are [Facilites], [Officers], [Elks'n the News], [Extra Pages](includes rich history of our lodge) and especially our [Photo Gallery]. If you have time after looking it over please sign our [Guest Book]. Thank you

Brian Gambino (bgambino@gmail.com)

Greetings. My mother came across her grandfather's paper lifetime membership card from 1956-57 and sterling silver engraved lifetime membership card from 1914. It appears to have been connected to a watch chain at one time. I don't know much about it, and I'm hoping someone can tell me a bit about it.

In it shows his picture along with the following text.

Life Membership Card Decatur, ILL Lodge 401. This is to certify that

Bro. S. J. Durbin P.E.R. is a life member in said lodge, having become so on the 7th day of April 1914.

It then has the secretaries signature, along with his signature and his member number 455. All engraved.

If anyone has any information on this membership card or can give me a little information about him, I'd be greatly appreciative. After coming across this, I'm going to join my local chapter in the St. Louis, MO area.

Though I now (and have for some time) live in Texas, I've been a member of #401 off and on for over 50 years. I'm Life Member #6330

Just happened to be browsing the web and thought I'd leave you a note.

I get all the bulletins and, though I no longer recognize many names, I do enjoy reading them.

Best of luck to you all.
