Mike Ligon Elected 2022 - 23 Exalted Ruler, Oak Island Elks Lodge
Greetings Fellow Elks...
I am touched and grateful that the membership of this lodge has enough confidence and has given me the opportunity to serve you as Exalted Ruler in the coming year. I do not take this new responsibility lightly and I hope that together we can continue to do good things for the community and support as many charities as possible.
Our lodge is moving forward with increased membership, financial stability (as soon as we get all the lodge credit cards from Roger). We should all be proud of our over $50,000 in charity contributions, and know we are held in high regard with the North Carolina Elks Association.
There still are some challenges to resolve including the future status of continuing chicken fries, and fish fries, and our relationship with the Town of Oak Island regarding lodge expansion. More details will be forthcoming.
I would like to personally like to thank Roger DePuyt for his significant accomplishments during his tenure as ER, and his help in preparing me for this new journey, I also would like to acknowledge the help and guidance from all our Past Exalted Rulers. I hope I can rely on you for your experience and knowledge.
Lastly, I want to thank all the officers that have served this lodge for the last year and welcome the newly elected officers. This is an extraordinarily strong group with a lot of experience and I'm confident that good things are on the way in the next 12 months.
Again, I am excited to serve the members of Oak Island Lodge #2769 in 2022-2023. Thank you.
