Sebring Elks #1529 members walked in the Sebring Christmas Parade. Elk Drug Awareness Mascot “Elroy” was present and members handed out bags of candy and drug awareness literature.
On December 1st, Sebring Elks Lodge #1529 proudly elected 12 members for Life Membership. Pictured here is Charlie Williams. Others were: Roy Anderson, George Christie, George DeVito, Kenneth Ebert, Gerald Edwards, Donald Gunneson, Harold Lee, Robert Lewis, Joseph Stanlake, William Tschida, and Robert Wheeler. To qualify, a person has to be at least 65 yrs. old, a member of the Elks for no less than 30 years, and 10 years at the current Lodge.
Sebring Elks 1529 takes great pleasure In selecting the Buttonwood Bay Crew, led by Bob Marks as Elks of the month for December. Besides being very active in their own resort they find the time to serve their Elk family. Sebring Elks #1529 are very grateful to Mary Ann & Mel Mueller for all of the hard work in the dinning room and helping in set up. They are the Elks of the Month for November. Due to health reasons, they are leaving Sebring and we wish them well.

On Nov. 18th and 19th, Sebring Elks #1529 hosted a Visitation by the Florida State Elks President Frank Hayes and his wife Linda from Pensacola. Vice President Sean Maguire and his wife Barbara from West Palm Beach and Southwest Central District Vice President Jim Mason and wife Ronna from Sebring along with approximately 60 people from around the State gathered for the various activities of the week-end. Friday night the fellowship began at the Sebring Residence Inn Marriott with hors d’eouvres and open bar, followed by a Fish Fry at the Lake Placid Lodge #2661. Saturday morning the men played golf at Golf Hammock while the wives and nongolfing men went to Henscratch Winery for a taste testing party and tour. The women then went to lunch at the Sebring Lakeside Tea Room where they were entertained by pianist, Reggie Lemmen. The rest of the afternoon was spent on a shopping spree! At 5:30 pm cocktails and dinner was at the Sebring Lodge. The “Glad Hatters” from Highlands Little Theatre provided the evenings entertainment. The Florida State Elks held their annual convention in Orlando, Florida from May 26th thru May 29th. The Sebring Elks #1529 proudly recognize two of it's members who have been elected and installed in District and State positions. Joe Bryant will be serving his 27th year as State Treasurer; Jim Mason was elected as Vice President of the Southwest Central District. This district consists of the following Lodges: Sebring, Lake Placid, Lake Wales, Arcadia, Winter Haven, Lakeland, Brandon, & Plant City.

The Sebring Elks #1529 thanked Bert & Evelyn Marples for all they do on the Veterans Committee by naming them Elk & Spouse of the Month of June.
Members of the Sebring Elks #1529, Grace Flis (left) and Pat Tribby (right) presented a check in the amount of $835.00 to Melissa Fiorito from the Highlands County Humane Society. The money was raised from donations, tips from the breakfast, and a bake sale which coincided with the Mother's Day Breakfast held at the Lodge on May 9th.

On Sunday May 9th, the Sebring Elks #1529 had a beautiful Mother's Day Breakfast at the Lodge. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service, and all the women received a carnation. Pictured here are three Mothers who live in Buttonwood Bay - Millie Bradley, Olene Hayes, and Barbara Doane.
