Bolivar Elks Lodge has new paved DRIVEWAY

The Elks of Bolivar Lodge #2828 have a brand new paved driveway! It has been a long time coming but it is finally finished!

After several years of frustration, a lot of hard work and donations by several generous members and friends, we finally raised enough money to get our driveway paved.

The construction was started on November 9, 2011 with the grading of the old gravel drive. Due to the very cold temperatures the actual pouring of concrete wasn't begun until November 30, 2011. The final pour was completed on December 12, 2011 and the driveway was opened for traffic in both directions on December 21, 2011.

A Driveway Dedication and Christening ceremony was held on January 14, 2012. The ribbon-cutting was performed by MO State President Tom Shelton, DDGER "Pete" Nash, SDGER Roger Redfearn and several Lodge Officers with several local members in attendance. Lodge Secretary Mike Funkhouser christened the drive as "ELKS WAY" with a bottle of champagne.

To say the least, this project was a major undertaking for the Bolivar Lodge. It wouldn't have come to fruition at all without a lot of dedication and work from local members and friends of the Lodge, help from the other West Central District Lodges and their members and patience from the City of Bolivar, MO.

Our sincerest thanks to everyone who had a hand in this accomplishment.
