Elks/PCC Obtain Grand Lodge Approval

Well, it's official. The acquisition of the Philipsburg Country Club by the Philipsburg Elks received Grand Lodge approval today, Tuesday, May 1, 2007. The Elks actually received the permit itself on Saturday, May 5, 2007. This document grants us permission to proceed with the acquisition of the Philipsburg Country Club and absorption of up to $250,000.00 of its debts and liabilities. As per Grand Lodge Statutes, this acquisition must be completed within one (1) year for the permit date.

Pursuant to the Option Merger Agreement, we now move to the membership phase. That is, Philipsburg Country Club members will be given the opportunity to become Elks members. The application period is sixty (60) days. Application will be issued, completed, and returned by the end of June. After that, the membership process will proceed according the Elks by-laws, i.e. applications will read and referred to the Investigating Committee; applications will then be reported from the Investigating Committee and scheduled for a vote; a vote on the applications will follow at the next meeting of the lodge; and, assuming they are approved, indoctrination and initiation will be scheduled by late-August or early-September.
