Exalted Ruler Message October '23

Hello Fellow Elks!

Can you believe it is already October?  Where has the time gone?

As always, October is another busy month.

The 3rd Annual Poker run is Saturday, October 7th, rain or shine.  All proceeds go toward our veteran's projects and shop with a hero.  It starts at 9am with sign-up at the Elks.  Bike, Trike, SUV, Mini Van, Pickup... all are welcome.

Wednesday, October 11th we will be fulfilling our obligation for the Beacon grant by planting trees 4 pm at Lamson Woods.  Won't take long, bring a shovel

Chamber Business After Hours is October 12th in the Jolly Cork.  Volunteers are needed... Please reply to this email or to fairfieldelks1192@gmail.com if you are willing to help.

Don't forget Pizza Night the 2nd Saturday of the month.  No one makes better pizza than us.

Wing night is back up and running on the 3rd Wednesday of each month... I am sure everyone has missed that. Best wings in town!

The Marshalltown Veterans Hog Roast is October 21st.  Volunteers would be appreciated.  Tanner McCreedy has more information if you are interested. Contact him at 641-233-0015 or tm_charger33@yahoo.com.

Red Ribbon Week is the week of the 23rd.  Try to make yourself available to support the cause.

Ryan Ford is the president of PER's and has scheduled a PER meeting for the 26th.  I am hoping all of you PER's will be able to attend and share your knowledge and ideas.

Kevin’s Game Night will be the 26th as well.  Meal at 6:30, games @ 7.

Lyle Maudlin spearheaded a fundraising effort to purchase our own historical flags for the Flag Day ceremony.  Because of his vision, we were able to purchase all of the flags and stands at no expense to the lodge.

Our grand exalted rule Randy P. Shook's goal is a plus membership in every lodge.   This would be the first time in YEARS that we would show a gain in membership.  Three in a Row, Let's Grow.   If you have already proposed both of your friends, go make another friend.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but your dues have already been paid to the state and grand lodge.  If you have not paid them to us, please do so, ASAP.

Fraternally yours,

Steve Winslow

Exalted Ruler

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, the October stagette has been replaced by Business After Hours on the 12th.   Watch your emails ladies --- we may need some help!
