It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
-- Sir Winston Churchill
Members All,
Spring is rapidly turning into Summer, and with the lifting of restrictions, hopefully things will become more normal at the Lodge. We have begun to have functions in Mullan Hall again, and we will be expanding the club hours starting June 1st, to 2-10 PM on Tuesday to Friday (closed Monday) and 11AM-10 PM on weekends.
Our Nation's Flag is the symbol of our Order’s highest Virtue, Charity. Thus, as Elks we hold Flag Day as a special day, and our Flag Day Commemoration will take place Sunday, June 13th at 2 PM on the front lawn of the Lodge (it will take place in the Lodge Room if it rains). You may wish to bring a folding chair.
Initiation of New Members will be during the June 16th Lodge meeting. Newer members may wish to come to better absorb the lessons of the Initiatory Ritual. I myself found that I got a lot more out of it the second time around.
Based on requests by some members, we will be posting the Lodge Budget and Board Meeting Minutes on the Bulletin Board in the Lounge. This Lodge belongs to YOU, the Members, and so we want to keep the membership informed.
Also posted on the Bulletin Board are the Resolutions to amend the Laws of the Order that will be voted on at the Grand Lodge Convention in early July, which I will be attending to represent our Lodge. Please have a look at them, and share your views regarding them with me so I can better represent our Members.
Finally, if you haven’t yet received the Covid vaccine, please consider doing so, if for no other reason than your own peace of mind.
Take Care, and hope to see you soon!
Fraternally yours,
ER Rod
