  • FISH FRY DURING THE LENT

    Starting with Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14th) the Lodge will be serving dinners during lent from 4:30-7:30 pm. Carry outs will be available. To make reservations for dinner contact 176 West Catering at 815-955-4968.

  • CCC CLINIC - FEBRUARY 6TH

    TIME: 4:00-5:30 PM WHERE: Hinsdale Orthopedic-Joliet Office 951 Essington Rd. COST: Free The clinic is for children ages 0-21 and is by appointment only and is sponsored by the Illinois Elks Children's Care Corp. and Joliet Elks Lodge #296. To schedule an appointment please call 1-800-272-0074 between the hours of 9 am and 4pm Monday thru Friday.

  • ELKS PRO FOOTBALL PICK'EM CONTEST

    Congratulations to member Keith Jorstad for winning this years contest at the national level. Keith's started playing mid season after becoming a member of our lodge and had a record of 118 wins and 32 loses for a winning percentage of 78.67%. The lodge finished first in the state with a record of 772 wins and 417 loses for a 64.93 winning percentage. This years contestants for the lodge along with Keith were Mark Bump, PDDGER (168-88), Kurt Frieders (165-91), Jack Alexander (159-97), and Tom Hummel, PDDGER (153-103.)

  • NEW TO THE MENU FOR HAMBURGER NIGHT.

    Starting with the 4th Thursday in January the Lodge will be having spaghetti along with the regular Thursday night menu. Cost is $8/person and includes salad and bread sticks.

  • 2018 CCC CALENDARS

    These calendars are now available for purchase. Stop by the Lodge to pick yours up today. Cost - $20.00 with 252 chances to win including $5,000 on Veterans day. All sales from the calendars go to help kids with special needs.

  • THE GIVING TREE

    ONCE AGAIN WE WILL BE HAVING A GIVING TREE AT THE LODGE. THIS YEAR WE WILL BE PROVIDING CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR PROVENA VILLA FRANCISCAN NURSING HOME AND 56 OF THIER RESIDENTS. PER THE STAFF AT VILLA FRANCISCAN WE WILL BE DOING BLANKETS AND THROWS. PLEASE DROP OFF THESE WRAPPED ITEMS BY DECEMBER 16, 2017. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT STEVE OR MARY RANDE.

  • LODGE HOOP SHOOT CONTEST

    This years Lodge Hoop Shoot contest is scheduled for Saturday December 16th at Plainfield Central H.S. starting at 12pm. This contest is open to students, male and female ages 8-13 y/o.   • 2018 CCC PT/OT & PT/OT ASSISTANT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

    Applications for the 2018 contests will be available on the Children's Care Corp. website, www.illinoiselksccc.org on December 1, 2017. The completed applications must be dropped of to the applicants local Elks Lodge by March 9, 2018. Please contact the lodge at 815-744-3355 during the hours of 9am-1pm to make arrangements to have your application delivered to the lodge.   • CITY OF JOLIET CHRISTMAS PARADE - NOVEMBER 24TH

    Join us for the City of Joliet's Light up the Holidays Parade on Friday November 24th. Once again the lodge will have a float in this event. Any member and their family wishing to ride on the float can contact the lodge. Anyone wishing to donate candy for the float can drop it off at the Lodge anytime before the date of the event. Come help us get into the spirit of the season!!!

  • MEMORIAL SERVICE - DECEMBER 3RD

    Joliet Elks Lodge would like to extend an invitation to all families and friends of those who have gone before us this year. Please join us on Sunday December 3rd at 1:00 pm for the Lodges Memorial Service as we remember those members who have passed within the past year. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony in concluded.

  • COATS FOR KIDS

    The Lodge will again be collecting new or slightly used coats for the winter for this Illinois Elks Association program. The coats will be distributed locally to those in need. You may drop off your donations by December 15th to the Lodge. Monetary donations are also accepted for this program. Any questions contact the Lodge or talk to Chairperson Steve Rande, P.E.R.

  • VETERANS REMEMBERANCE MONTH

    The Elks National President, Malcolm McPherson Jr., has proclaimed November as Veterans Remembrance Month as a way to encourage us to find local veterans and help them with their needs. The Lodge is supporting this by having their annual Veterans Party on Saturday Nov. 11th starting at 5pm. The Lodge also throughout the year collects household items to help in supporting the Will County Veterans Assistance Program.

  • CHILDRENS CARE CLINIC - November 7th

    Joliet Elks Lodge 296 in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children's Care Corp, will sponsor a free children's orthopedic clinic on Tuesday November 7, 2017. The clinic is from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and is by appointment only and will be held at the Hinsdale Orthopedic Office in Joliet, 951 Essington Rd. To make an appointment please call the Children's Care Office at 1-800-272-0074 between the hours of 9am-4pm Monday thru Friday.

  • CHRISTMAS AT OUR HOUSE CRAFT SHOW

  • GRAND LODGE AMERICANISM ESSAY CONTEST

    The theme this year is " Why our veterans our America's heroes." Essays must be submitted to the Lodge by December 15, 2017. The contest is open to boys and girls grades 5-8. For information regarding this contest please contact the Lodge at 815-744-3355 or at www.elks296@att.net

  • FRIDAY NIGHT DINNERS

    The Lodge will be starting our Friday Night dinners on October 13th, 2017. Besides the fish we will be adding a couple new items to the menu. Dinner time will be 4:30-7:30 pm More information to be posted on the website and the Elk Call regarding this matter as it becomes available. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL AT OUR DINNERS.

  • LODGE OPEN ON SUNDAYS STARTING SEPTEMBER 10TH

    The Lodge will be open on Sundays from 11am - 5pm for Bear Noon games ONLY. Come on out and support the Lodge even if your not a football fan. Those attending can bring their favorite snack to share. First kickoff is Sunday Sept. 10th against the Atlanta Falcons.

  • REINSTATEMENT AMNESTY PERIOD

    During the months of September and October, past members that have dropped or taken a demit may reinstate at a reduced fee of only $1.oo PLUS PRO RATED DUES. If you know of someone that may be interested in rejoining, please encourage them to do so during this time. Reinstatement applications are available in the lodge lobby or see contact the Lodge Secretary. Reinstatements do not go through initiation again. Reinstatement requests must be to the Lodge Secretary by October 24, 2017.

  • 2018 LEGEACY SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

    Legacy awards are $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elk members. The foundation will offer a total of 300 awards in the 2018 contest, an increase of 50 awards. The contest will open on September 1, 2017. The deadline for applications for the 2018 contest will be February 2, 2018 at 11:59 am Central Time.   • 2018 MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST

    The MVS Scholarship application will be available on-line starting September 1, 2017. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest rated applicants in the 2018 competition. The 2018 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need. The deadline for submission of applications is November 27, 2017.   • Meanwhile Canadian Elks Association Elects First Female National President

    The first female Grand Exalted Ruler in Canada was installed at their National Convention in Langley, B.C. Deborah Sallenbach from Langley, B.C., Lodge #259. She has also been the first female ER at her Lodge, first female DDGER for the Canadian Order of Elks and currently serves as the first female on the Canadian Elks National Executive Board.

  • ELKS ELECT NEW NATIONAL PRESIDENT

    The Elks have elected Malcolm J. McPherson of Lyndhurst N.J. Lodge #1505 as the Order's new Grand Exalted Ruler. GER McPherson was installed at the Grand Lodge Convention in Reno, NV. on July 17th. In related news Joliet's own Jeff Sterr has been appointed as the new DDGER for the East District of the Illinois Elks Association for the 2017-18 Lodge year.

    The Joliet Elks 296 in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children's Care Corp. will sponsor a free children's orthopedic clinic on Tuesday August 1, 2017.   • GLEN MARCUM COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AWARD

    Congratulations to Julie McCabe Sterr, wife of PDVP Jeff Sterr for receiving this award. This inaugural award recognizes individuals who have consistently over time exhibited dedication, time, talents and treasure to achieve the vision and the mission of the American Cancer Society. Julie has been involved in Relay for Life for many years and is truly deserving of this award.

  • AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY'S RELAY FOR LIFE-JUNE 3RD

    Please join us June 3rd for Relay for Life event at the Joliet Park District's Memorial Stadium. Walk a few laps, visit our booth, we will be having raffle items and beef sandwiches. All proceeds goes to the American Cancer Society. If you would like to make a donation just send in a check or cash to the Lodge. Make checks payable to the Joliet Elks and out in the memo for Relay for Life.

  • MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH 176 WEST CATERING

  • Illinois Elks Childrens Care Clinic - May 2, 2017

    The Joliet Elks Lodge in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children's Care Corp. will sponsor a free children's orthopedic clinic on Tuesday May 2, 2017.   • POP TAB DONATIONS AND RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

    With a recent donation of 660 lbs. of pop tabs the Illinois Elks Association has now donated 7 MILLION POP TABS over the past 10 years to the Ronald McDonald House near Loyola and is well on there way towards 8 MILLION POP TABS. FYI: 12 pop tabs = 1 foot 1,267 tabs = 1 lb. 63,360 tabs = 1 mile 1,000,000 tabs = 790 lbs. (Which the IEA has collected 5,775 lbs.) Congrats to all those who have contributed.

  • TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISER-RELAY FOR LIFE

    The Lodge will be sponsoring this event for its Relay for Life Team on Saturday April 22nd. Cost is $10/person, $15/person the day of event. A maxium of 8 people per team.
