Lodge #744 Home
The Elderly Man
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is not some secret society that one should be afraid of. It is a charitable organization that tries its best to help the community.
The Peekskill Lodge has been standing in the same location for over a hundred years, watching over the city as it changes with time, yet the old white building stays unchanging and stubborn. It reminds me of an elderly man, strong in presence, but clearly weathered and tired. The peeling paint is similar to the calloused hand of a once young and ambitious man, now only able to tell tales of what once was. The bronze elk is displayed proudly like a once coveted trophy that no longer has an appeal.
Yet, the members fight to keep the elderly man alive, looking for the Fountain of Youth, so that the elderly man can once again become ambitious, can once again shine, and create new tales to tell.
