I like to thankyou to be the first lodge that signed in your guess book. It was nice to hear from another lodge from another state. How did the Grand Lodge let you have only one lodge meeting a month other then July, and Aug. Did you put it like that in your by-laws. You are lucky to be part of a golf course. It will be nice see someone from your lodge someday up here.

If you did not notice from our website my family is in three consecutive chairs. My husband Michael, Leading Knight and my son Andy is Lecturing Knight. So it is a true family experience for us. from Yuma, AZ, Lodge #476

Sam: Greeting for Yyuma AZ. Lodge #476. Thanks for visiting our virtual home page. The page was my first attempt at creating a web page, and while I am well please with it, there are still things I want to add to it. You can well be proud of the VHP you have put together. It almost makes me feel like a slow poke in improving ours. Presently, I am trying to straighten out our Internet Web Page. . With the sudden departure of our Lecturing Knight for Waterloo IA. for a new job and our Esquire leaving to assist his daughter, who lost her husband in Afghanistan. we are having a little difficulty in finding two qualified people to fill in thse positions. Have a great year. Jim

Lodge #1466 in Grinnell is not as large as yours sounds, but we are a friendly group and will welcome you and yours with open arms. Please stop by if you are ever in the area.

Hi Sam,

Where in the World is Duncan, Oklahoma? Just kidding. But I'll bet you don't know where Beaverton, Oregon is.

Thank you for being the first one to sign our guest book. How do you get to be the first signer on so many Lodges' guest books?

Just this week we updated our Grand Lodge Website which was very much out of date, and it is undergoing a major overhaul.

In April we established our own Website (a link is on our Grand Lodge site). Its address is www.teleport.com/~elks1989

It is the first "talking" Website in Elkdom. We have 2 audio messages. One by the Exalted Ruler, and one by yours truly giving the Jolly Corks Toast. (Dial-up users give the site 3-5 minutes to load up the messages). Also, our Exalted Ruler is driving to the Grand Lodge Convention. He will be reporting in every night starting June 28, 2004, and his reports will be posted on our own Webite. Check it out.

Whenever you are near Beaverton, we would welcome your visit to our great Lodge. Remember, at the State line, be sure you exchange your currency for Oregon dollars.

Fraternally,

Larry Weirich Inner Guard Publicity Chairman Webmaster All 'round good guy

from Sky Forest, CA, Lodge #2393

Thanks for the "Howdy"! I've only just started on our website but it is time consuming and I am pleased to know that it's working. You are invited to our lodge whenever you come out to California. We are 120 miles (apprx) due east of Los Angeles. We are at 6000 feet. If you watched the news last fall you probably heard that Rim Forest was gone! Well, we were saved by a couple of fire companies that refused to pull out and let us burn. They gelled down our lodge and several surrounding businesses and ran for their lives. Because of their caring and stubborness our lodge still stands. Our beautiful forest, already so damaged by bark beatle infestation, was deeply scared and blackened. We have several feet of snow now, and in the morning when the sun hits the ice frozen branches it is clear that this is still a very beautiful place to live. Of all of the families who lost their homes, I've heard noone say they were moving off our mountain. They all plan to rebuild. So please, if you, or any fellow Elks are in our area, come in and say hello to Sandi Avery, our club manager or any of our volunteer bartenders. We'll show you some mountain hospitality. I won't tell you it's heaven, but at 6000 feet, we believe we're one mile closer! T hanks again, Duncan, OK. Sounds like you've got a great Lodge and it's full of a terrific bunch of Elks!!!
