Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 held its annual Hoop Shoot for boys
and girls at the Carson City Community Center on Saturday, December 10. The
Elks Hoop Shoot is a Nation-wide free throw program for boys and girls ages
8-13. Daniel McKoy, Montessori School, won the 8-9 year old boys, Parker
Niehoff, Montessori School, won the 10-11 year old boys, Madelyn McKoy,
Montessori School, won the 10-11 year old girls and Blake Humphreys, Eagle
Valley Middle School, won the 12-13 year old boys. Next step is the District
Hoop Shoot on January 21, 2023 in Reno. State level competition is in
Hawthorne, NV on February 11, 2023 followed by the Regional Semi Finals in Las
Vegas on February 25, 2023. Winners
there proceed to the National Finals to be held in Chicago, IL on April 20-23,
2023.
