New Lodge Opens June 13, 2003 with Dedication held July 19, 2003
Friday the 13th, Lucky or Unlucky? Friday the 13th is not unlucky for Elks Lodge #37 members. That was a very lucky day for us. Friday the 13th of June was our first day in our new Lodge on Sonora Drive. It was a long time in coming, but then everything happened so quickly. Wednesday, we found out we would have our liquor license in hand and our phone lines installed Friday morning. That meant the next day would be the last day to have a drink or spend time in the current building. Thursday, a very hard working group of men and women from our Lodge packed and moved the majority of our furnishings to the new location. Then they unpacked, cleaned and organized to get ready for the Fathers Day dinner that was now being held at the new Lodge on Friday night. Because of these few hard working, dedicated Elks and spouses, it all came together and everything was in place for the dinner. Our extreme thanks goes out to each and every one of you for making the move successful and getting the clubroom in order. Finally on July 19, 2003 the official Grand Opening and dedication of our new Lodge located at 2140 Sonora Drive in Grove City was held. 12:00 PM: Ribbon Cutting / Lodge opens for guests 1:00 PM: Building Dedication Services for B.P.O.Elks Lodge #37 2:00–6:00 PM: Cocktail Party / Complimentary Hors d’oeuvres Tours of new building / grounds Entertainment / Carter Brothers 6:00–8:00 PM: Dinner (Reservations Required 8:00-12:00 AM: Entertainment / Michael Rose 11:00 PM: Eleven O'Clock Toast The were approximately 300 members and guests in attendance.
