Elks Lodge #2350 History of Coolidge-Florence

Elks Lodge #2350 received its charter on August 18, 1966. Due to the generosity of Mr. Attaway’s donation of his grocery store building at the corner of Attaway Road and Arizona Highway 287, the lodge was created.

The lodge burned in the late 1960’s  and our predecessors planned for a lodge building that began construction of the new $6,500 lodge in 1971 and was dedicated in 1974. That lodge is the building many remember. It suffered several damaging windstorms that “removed” the roof several times.

On January 10, 2005 the members of Lodge 2350 were offered $1 million from Overture Partners, LLC for the property. This offer was voted on by the members on January 24, 2005 with 30 members yes and 1 member no.

On February 15, 2005 Grand Lodge approved the sale. The new owners allowed Lodge 2350 to rent back the lodge until they could relocate. At the February 28, 2025 Lodge meeting 21 of the 102 Elks of 2350 attending voted to purchase 14.5 acres at our current location for $375,000.

The Lodge enlisted the help of the football teams and coaches of Coolidge and Florence to move all the equipment into storage as the new and present owners, Circle K, intended to build a gas station on the property they purchased. This move was reported on the front page of the Coolidge Examiner Vol. 77 Number 19 Wednesday May 23, 2007.

Elks Lodge #2350 was then without a lodge building, but the Florence American Legion invited them to occupy their building while they constructed the current lodge at 2241 N. Attaway Road. The current lodge has been occupied by the Elks of Coolidge-Florence Lodge #2350 since 2008 and has been host to many community charity events supporting children’s charities and veterans in both communities.

Since obtaining it’s Charter August 18, 1966 through 2023 the members of the lodge have given back to our communities over 6.6 million dollars.
