Another van dontated in '09

The hard work of the 2008 Golf Committee of Southampton Elks resulted in sufficient funds to donate a medical transport van for area veterans after the 2008 Golf Tournament. Last year's van is used to transport veterans to Northport VA Hospital and other medical destinations originating on the South Fork of Eastern Long Island.
Almost ubelievably, this year's (2009) Golf Committee raised enough, despite the economic hard times, to purchase yet another van, which will be used for similar transport for veterans from the North Fork, primarily.

The van above was donated to DAV Transportation Services in 2008 and has been used over the past year to transport Veterans to medical appointments near and far.

The new van was on hand at the Presentation Celebration held at the Lodge on Sunday, November 1st, and a fine specimen it is (more photos at the bottom of this article).
