The Elks Scholar Fellow is a member of the ENF's scholarships team, working full-time to help a network of over 3,000 students pursue their college dreams and serve in their communities nationwide. The Fellow's primary responsibility is coordinating the Elks Scholar Service Trip program. The Elks Scholar Service Trip program brings Elks scholars from all over the country together to serve in different areas of the country on a weeklong immersive service experience. The Fellow is responsible for planning, marketing and leading three trips per year.
In addition to the service trips, the Elks Scholar Fellow plays a crucial role in supporting the ENF scholarship office. The Fellow works closely with the Scholar Advisory Board, a group of Elks scholars that advises the ENF on scholar relation efforts. The Fellow is also involved in the management of the Most Valuable Student and Legacy scholarship contests, supporting both the students applying and the Elk volunteers that make them possible.
As part of the Elks' partnership with the VA, the ENVSC Fellow spends half of their time at the VA working directly with homeless and at-risk veterans. The remainder of the ENVSC Fellow's time is spent facilitating an Emergency Assistance Fund to help veterans obtain and maintain housing as well as fund Elks member projects to assist at-risk veterans nationally.
