Menus are lists of related options. When you choose an option from a Menu, you are telling CLMS ® what action to take. "Choose" means to select an option by clicking on it with the mouse or by using the [CTRL + key] combination on the keyboard.
On a single Menu, the options may be further grouped to indicate that they produce similar outcomes. Divider lines separate these groups.
Certain Menu Options are followed by an ellipsis (...). When you choose this type of option, a dialog appears to request additional information.
Some Menu Options have a Control key shortcut listed next to them on the Menu. You can use a Control key combination to choose the Menu Option without displaying the Menu. For example, in the File Menu you may select Quit by pressing [CTRL + Q] on your keyboard. Control key shortcuts are listed in Appendix H.
Some Menu Options have a single key shortcut listed next to them on the Menu. You can press the key on your keyboard to select that Menu Option. For example, in the File Menu you can open the online Help by pressing [F1].
Sometimes, certain Menu Options appear dimmed and cannot be chosen. These Menu Options are disabled. You can’t select a Menu Option if it is disabled.
