Exalted Ruler Letter:
Spring has sprung. The installation of new officers will be 4/7/09 and you all are welcome to attend. It is time for me to thank all of you for your support over the last 12 months. We accomplished many things and all to the positive. A new computer system was installed, the new patio was completed, a great deal of money was raised for cancer & the Children’s Fund and several other projects were completed. We have an ongoing list of things to be finished, starting with Bill Marshal who is chairing the Family Night, Bill Pumphrey for his continuing effort to have HWY 31 renamed to Veterans Hwy. and is doing this in the name of the Elks. We also had our first open house party, it was a great success, however as usual most of our members did not attend. We had an emergency meeting a few months ago and it was presented just how important it is for the members to attend these functions, my next question is if you the members do not bring in new members, how do we keep the doors open? Remember, this is your lodge, and if you want it to stay around, it is time you all step up and help!!!!! On another note. Jerry Walters has put together a Tom & Jerry committee and will be in charge this year. They have already put together a special bingo to kick of raising funds so we can keep this event our best gathering of the year. THANKS JERRY AND CREW!!!!!! We still need about $1500.00 to finish the back yard, again I will ask for donations of cash, and or shrubs, bushes, flowers and trees.
I was ask this past month why we had purchased 3 new TV’s when the lodge was doing so bad. It was unsigned, but to answer this question, first It was all done with the help of the members that DO frequent our lodge. Myself and Ron Robbins donated and prepared a big dinners, which made us $800.00. We also ran raffles, sold 50-50 tickets, got items to auction off and just passing the jar for a donation. That is how we did it and at NO cost to the lodge. These same folks that donated to get our new TV’s are the same ones who help out all year when we need help! It took 2 full years to get all three TV’s and we bought when we found a sale. We had $100 left over and it was donated to the Children’s fund. For anyone who would like answers to any questions, we have a lodge meeting twice a month and you are all welcome to attend and get your questions answered.

Welcome new officers and a huge THANK YOU to the ones who are leaving, your help was what completed all these new projects. GREAT JOB!
