December has been busy, but not nearly as busy as last year. Last year we had seven outside parties in the lodge room. This year we only had three. This caused a big decline in expected income for the lodge in December. On the bright side, our caterers Rite Bite have started catering our events and the response has been very positive. Keep your eye on your email for special dinners at the lodge featuring our caterers. We are trying to get them cook for the lodge at least twice a month. This will all hinge on the members supporting the special meals. The first special meal will be this month. For all of you who helped at the parties in December thank you.
On December 31st we had our annual New Years Eve Party. The music was provided by the Smith Brothers band. There were about 70 people at the party. It was great, everyone stayed until at least 1:00 AM. The music was so good we raised another couple hundred dollars for an encore. Finger food, shrimp, chicken cordon bleu, stuffrd mushrooms, meatballs, veggie trays are just some of the food that was provided.
January 7th the lodge is hosting a DD Clinic for the North East District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, our own Larry Davis. The evening before Lori Summers and Boom Boom Productions are providing Karaoke for any out of town guests and our members. The Karaoke starts at 8:00 PM and the DD Clinic at 9:00 AM. If youd like to help come out the lodge Thursday Evening to see how you can help. If youve never been to a DD Clinic its a good opportunity to meet Elks from all the lodges in the NE District.
Every year most every one starts the year out by setting goals to help them improve their lives, our lodge needs to do the same. This year our goal was to finish the year in the black. With all the changes weve made and the help some of you have given, through the end of this year were in the black and our trust fund has grown. Thank you. Still the lodge has a long way to go. Our biggest problem, membership, is something only you can correct. It is up to you to get the lodge new members. Some of you have done great and others have not contributed. The lodge needs each of you to get at least one new member. In fact, I challenge each and every one of you to get at least one new member this coming year the sooner the better.
In closing, I wish each of you and your family a Happy New Year. I hope the past year saw each of you and your family prosperous and in good health. As always, I wish each of you and your family health and love of family and friends.

Update To Events:
January 6th and 7th Our lodge hosted the DD Clinic. We had lots of out of town Elk visitors for the Karaoke on Saturday Evening. Everyone had a great time. On Sunday morning the 7th, we hosted almost 100 Elks and 30 some spouses. Weve had nothing but positive feedback. To all those who helped make this a big success for our lodge and DDGER Larry Davis and his wife Ginger thank you. Everyone loved the home cooked desserts. Thank you for the great home cooking.
January 13th Weve got Karaoke in the lounge by a new group. Come out, bring a friend and have fun. The fun begins at 8:00 PM.
February 9th and 10th NE District Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is Friday and Saturday. Wed sure like to see you attend. The party night is Friday the 9th. Saturday night theres a dance. Come to lodge and look on the bulletin board for more information. Please try and get signed up this week if you plan to attend. We are scheduled to have a hospitality room if its big enough. If its big enough Boom Boom will be doing Karaoke Friday evening.
