Americanism Committee Lays Wreaths Across America

Saturday Dec 16th, the newly formed Americanism Committee and volunteers participated in the annual Wreaths Across America at Fort Indiantown Gap.

The ceremony lasted was about an hour and included students from Cumberland Valley, Trinity, and Redland high schools. There was an estimated 2000 in attendance.

Wreaths Acriss America started in 1992 when surplus wreaths were donated to Arlington Cemetery.  In the years following,  other cemeteries joined in, and by 2006 the non-profit was established.  Today over 1700 cemetaries prarticiate. Aside from Arlington,  which is the largest by far, Fort Indiantown Gap  is second to Dallas in size and scope of the event. Here is a link to the history and activities involved.
