What does being a Knoxville Elk at Christmas time mean? It means experiencing holiday cheer with the children & their families' from the East Tennessee Childrens Rehabilitation Center. Yes, it takes a year of planning and weeks of blood, sweat and tears to transform our building to holiday land. But once we begin to greet them at the doors, serve them a cookie & pizza, help them personalize an ornament, share a giggle as they get their face painted, it does not take long for our hearts to be overwhelmed with the spirit of the season. As the activities continue the anticipation builds until Santa & his pack arrive by Fire Engine. Santa shares a special moment with every child before he leaves.
