RV Club News
The Elk’s Ramblin’ RV’ers is a club of camping enthusiasts who have camping gear and are ready to travel. Our outings are generally within a 100 mile radius of Brookings. Those of us with trailers, 5th wheels or motorhomes recognize the need to utilize these rigs on a regular basis (usually 3 days/month) to prevent them from deteriorating due to nonuse. We invite you attend our meetings which are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month except December & January at 3 pm in the Wisner Room of the Brookings Elks Lodge. For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Stu Anthony at 541 469 6170.
HI EVERYONE !
Our next outing, August 19 -24, which is 5 nights, is going to be held at Florence and Tillamook Elk’s RV Parks, hosted by Herman & Darlene Hunt. Several of our dinners will be at the Elk Lodges plus our usual breakfast treats, omelets, hors-d’oeuvres and potluck.
Here is the schedule for the rest of the year:
September 16 – 19 at Bandon by the Sea in Bandon
October 21 – 24 at Twin Rivers RV Park in Roseburg
November 4th – A Special Pot Luck in the Wisner room
December 5th – Our Christmas Party
Eleven members participated at our last outing held at the Holiday Farm RV Park in Blue River, hosted by Jim & Mary DeArmond. The weather was great and there were several scenic roads and waterfalls to visit and explore. As usual we had good food and enjoyed our special friendships. The RV Park provided a special area for our breakfast treats; sweet rolls, fruit, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and coffee. We also had our BBQ and potluck in this area. Our last dinner was at Takoda’s Restaurant where we were able to sit out on the patio and enjoy excellent food. The campground also had a large area for our nightly campfires.
Those of you with RV’s should join us. This club is open to any Elk member with a motorhome, camper, 5th wheel or trailer. We meet downstairs in the Wisner room at 3 pm the first Tuesday of each month. Remember you are welcome to attend two camping trips without obligation to see for yourself what a great time we have. For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Stu Anthony at (541) 469-6170.
