RV Club News
The Elk’s Ramblin’ RV’ers is a club of camping enthusiasts who have camping gear and are ready to travel. Our outings are generally within a 100 mile radius of Brookings. Those of us with trailers, 5th wheels or motorhomes recognize the need to utilize these rigs on a regular basis (usually 3 days/month) to prevent them from deteriorating due to nonuse. We invite you attend our meetings which are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month except December & January at 3 pm in the Wisner Room of the Brookings Elks Lodge. For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Stu Anthony at 541 469 6170.
HI EVERYONE !
The last outing of the year, October 21 - 24, will be held at Twin Rivers RV Park in Roseburg, Oregon and will be hosted by Karen Lennartz. We will be having our usual breakfast treats, omelets, hors-d’oeuvres, pot luck and special dinner.
Here is the schedule for the rest of the year:
November 7th – A special Pot Luck in the Wisner room
December 5th- Annual Christmas Party
Our most recent outing was held at Florence and Tillamook Elks RV Parks, hosted by Herman and Darlene Hunt. There were 13 rigs, the most participants we have had on an outing this year and the longest trip, lasting 5 nights. At Florence, some of us arrived a day early and had a great dinner at the Three Rivers Casino. When the rest of the group arrived, we had our usual hearty hors-d’oeuvres, cocktails and campfire. The next morning after our donuts and coffee, we went exploring and shopping on our own, meeting in the evening at the Elk’s Lodge for cocktails, a wonderful fish fry and campfire. On to Tillamook the next day, we again had our usual arrival day goodies and nightly campfire. Friday, after donuts and coffee, we caravanned to the Munson Creak Waterfall, the highest fall on the Oregon Coast. Some of the sightseeing done by members on this trip was the Cape Meares Lighthouse, Tillamook County Pioneer Museum, Air Museum, Cape Lookout, Arch Rocks Federal Sea Lion and Bird Refuge, Blue Heron French Cheese Company and the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Our last day in Tillamook, we had our omelets in a bag and BBQ pot luck.
Those of you with RV’s should join us. This club is open to any Elk member with a motorhome, camper, 5th wheel or trailer. We meet downstairs in the Wisner room at 3 pm the first Tuesday of each month. Remember you are welcome to attend two camping trips without obligation to see for yourself what a great time we have. For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Stu Anthony at (541) 469-6170.
