RV Club News
The Elk's Ramblin' RV'ers is a club of camping enthusiasts who have camping gear and are ready to travel. Our outings are generally within a 100 mile radius of Brookings. Those of us with trailers, 5th wheels or motorhomes recognize the need to utilize these rigs on a regular basis (usually 3 days/month) to prevent them from deteriorating due to nonuse.
We invite you attend our meetings which are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month (except December & January) @ 7:00pm in the Wisner Room of the Brookings Elks Lodge.
For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Herman Hunt at (541) 469-4388. please contact Wagon Master Stu Anthony at (541) 469-6170.
HI EVERYONE !
. This has been a wonderful year full of RV trips. We have had some great times with lots of good friends and visited many interesting places. At our next meeting in February 2014 we will begin planning next year's events with the expectation of visiting some new and different campgrounds.
Our last outing of the year was held at Humboldt County Fairgrounds hosted by Angie Bruce and Doris Westoby. There were 9 rigs that participated, with our usual hors d'oeuvres, pot luck and happy hours. Angie & Doris prepared complete breakfasts each morning and even had a bingo game where everyone was a winner.
Our special dinner was in Ferndale at Hotel Ivanhoe with a local production of "My Town" at the downtown repertory theater. Several people went to the Loleta Cheese Factory, explored the Victorian town of Ferndale and took the Lost Coast highway to Petrolia and the redwoods. .
During our regularly scheduled meeting in November, we had a pot luck dinner. There were 25 members that participated and enjoyed sitting around talking about our year of RV trips with special friends.
Our annual Christmas party will be held at the Brookings Elks Lodge on Friday, December 6th. We are looking forward to a dinner of Prime Rib or Panko
Crusted Chicken Breast, ice cream, cake and a holiday gift exchange.
