RV Club News
The Elk’s Ramblin’ RV’ers is a club of camping enthusiasts who have camping gear and are ready to travel. Our outings are generally within a 100 mile radius of Brookings. Those of us with trailers, 5th wheels or motorhomes recognize the need to utilize these rigs on a regular basis (usually 3 days/month) to prevent them from deteriorating due to nonuse. We invite you attend our meetings which are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month except December & January at 3 pm in the Wisner Room of the Brookings Elks Lodge. For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Stu Anthony at 541 469 6170.
HI EVERYONE !
Our most recent outing, with 9 rigs and several guests, was held at Bandon by the Sea RV Park; hosted by Kathy Lupo and Bob Hess. The weather was good, with just 1 day of rain. The first night, after our Happy Hour and hors-d’oeuvres, we played Bingo with prizes furnished by the hosts. We had two breakfasts consisting of egg, sausage, potato and cheese casseroles followed the next morning with pancakes and scrambled eggs. In addition to providing the breakfast meals, the hosts also included Mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s. Kathy & Bob also cooked a dinner of pork tenderloin, with attendees providing side dishes for all of the hosted meals. For our final dinner we went to Billy Smoothboars, with choices of soups, salads, ribs, steak, chicken, fish, seafood and pastas.
The hosts also arranged for a tour of the Bandon fish hatchery (smallest in Oregon) and ‘Woods of the West’ Myrtlewood factory. Lunches were on our own and many people went sightseeing and shopping in Old Town Bandon.
The November 4th meeting will be a pot luck dinner at 5pm. If you have not signed up yet, please contact Karen Anthony at (541) 469-6170.
Our Christmas party this year will be held at the Brookings Elk’s Lodge on December 5th.
Those of you with RV’s should join us. This club is open to any Elk member with a motorhome, camper, 5th wheel or trailer. We meet downstairs in the Wisner room at 3 pm the first Tuesday of each month. Remember you are welcome to attend two camping trips without obligation to see for yourself what a great time we have. For further information about this group, please call our Wagon Master Stu Anthony at (541) 469-6170.
