In the wake of Hurricane Ian, 20 scholars from around the country traveled to Tampa, Fla., January 3-7, to support disaster relief efforts. The first day, the scholars drove out to Pine Island to collaborate alongside the Elks of Greater Pine Island, Fla., Lodge No. 2781 whose own lodge was severely damaged by the disaster. Scholars also volunteered at Feeding Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries. After serving, scholars explored The Florida Aquarium, went on a wild dolphin cruise, and enjoyed dinner with Tampa, Fla., Lodge No. 708.
