Eleven scholars from around the nation traveled to Detroit, Mich. to serve in the name of the Elks! Scholars packaged and distributed meals with Make Food Not Waste and sorted donations at Mittens for Detroit. They also prepared plots for planting with WJP Urban Farms, who grow fruits and vegetables for the community. Finally, they wrapped up the week serving at Cass Community Social Services, preparing their kitchen for the hundreds of meals they serve each day. The week wouldn't be complete without connecting with local Elks at the Metro District President's Dinner at Clawson-Troy, Mich., Lodge No. 2196 and at a game night with Ferndale, Mich., Lodge No. 1588. It was an amazing week of serving with diverse organizations, exploring Motor City, and connecting with the #ElksFamily!
