Feeding South Dakota announced today a $12,000 donation from the South Dakota Elks Association to help provide hunger relief to South Dakota families. The funds will be used to provide 36,000 meals distributed through various Feeding South Dakota programs.
“We are extremely grateful to the South Dakota Elks Association for their support of the very important work we do, ensuring no one goes hungry in South Dakota,” says Christina Oey, Development Director, Feeding South Dakota.
Feeding South Dakota was chosen by the South Dakota Elks Association due to their hard work throughout COVID-19. “Individually, we have all seen the work being done across the state. The pandemic has brought this all to the forefront and made everyone aware of the need that you serve,” said Tom Adams, current State President of the South Dakota Elks Association. “We thought that our donation might be helpful.”
Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today’s veterans, and improve the quality of life.
