Lakeview Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614-2256. We cannot satisfy requests for applications that do not include self-addressed, stamped envelopes.
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2008 Most Valuable Student competition. Starting this year, students will have the opportunity to compete for an additional 12 top awards. Awards range from $15,000 per year to $1,000 per year.

The contest is for high school seniors who are U.S. citizens; college students are not eligible. You do not need to be related to an Elks member.
All applications must be submitted to a local Elks Lodge by January 11, 2008.
All applications must be submitted to the closest Elks Lodge to the student's home address. Applications sent to the Elks National Foundation may be disqualified due to missing the filing deadline with the Lodge.

An exhibit is an example of a student's achievement in scholarship, leadership, athletics, dramatics, community service or other activities. Newspaper articles, letters of commendation for community service, or art projects are all examples of exhibits that can be included. Please avoid repetition. For example, do not include numerous copies of certificates or academic letters.
No. It is not necessary to send a separate sheet of test scores, if they are included on your transcript. However, if the school provides a sealed transcript, it is the applicant's responsibility to ensure the scores are listed on the transcript.

Applications must advance through local, district, and state competitions to reach the national competition. If you do not receive a written response three weeks after the following deadline dates, contact the appropriate person for that level. (i.e. Lodge, District or State Scholarship Chairperson).

All national winners will be notified in writing by the Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation by mid-May 2008. In addition, national winners will be announced at www.elks.org/enf.
