Lodge Construction Update

Pete Frank gave a great update on the construction at Thursday’s lodge meeting. Pete said after many lengthy and not so nice meetings with the contractor it looks like they are all finally on the same page

Exterior:

The cinder block wall on the southwest corner is complete.

The old loading dock on the northeast corner is all blocked in. The roof and garage door will be installed in the next couple of weeks. This will be the new storage area.

The west face of the building will begin seeing brick in the next week and windows will be delivered in the next two weeks as well. Preparations are being made this week with brick to start mid-week. This is a two week minimum duration.

Exterior painting will start in the coming weeks.

Interior:

Electrical is in and the roughed-in inspection is complete.

Majority of framing is done and drywall started going up this week (see photo's)

The new main entrance to the lodge was gutted and has been reframed, doors will be installed in the coming weeks with the windows.

All HVAC and ductwork are about 80 percent done and should be completed this week. Due to missed items on the drawings we have had to make some adjustments for better constructability.

The contractor is going to focus on the north end of the building to try and get the Lounge and Dining area including bathrooms completed so that the Lodge could open by August 15th. Again, this is a tentative date and things can change as with any construction job.

They have set September 1st as the completion date for the rest of the lodge but that can also change.

The question was brought up about how the GC and the Lodge in conjunction with Grand Lodge is monitoring and safeguarding against COVID 19.  The General Contractor is following City, County, State and National Guidelines, as well as specific guidelines from OSHA. They are monitoring all of their subs daily and if anyone is sick or has been in contact with, they are immediately sent home and go into quarantine protocol. They have asked, as the Lodge Board has asked, that Members stay out of the Lodge while they are there. The GC has no jurisdiction over the members and with visitors coming and going there is no way for them to guarantee anyone's safety. Grand Lodge is requiring that all members and visitors take the recommended precautions and wear masks as requested or required.

There has been more exposure noted in the surveys that we as Contractors take in the last two weeks. This could lead to a very big problem and since the majority of members are within the age group of the highest risk, we need to be the most responsible.

Look for more weekly updates as the contractor makes progress. We would like to remind all Lodge members that the Lodge is NOT OPEN for visitors to look at the construction. You will not be allowed in.
