Jr. Students of the Month
Baer, age 13, is the son of Steve and Tina Baer of Ely. Bellander, age 13, is the daughter of Shawn and Angela Bellander of Ely. Both are eighth-graders at White Pine Middle School.
The Junior Student of the Month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding students in the area. Junior Students of the Month are selected by a panel of their peers in each participating school within the jurisdiction of the sponsoring lodge.
Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection of Junior Students of the Month.
Baer has been active in football, basketball and wrestling at WPMS. He is a member of the Boy Scouts of America. His hobbies are football, reading, video games, snowboarding and playing the trombone.
Bellander has been active in basketball and bowling. She is a member of 4-H and has participated in horsemanship, shooting sports, dog care, livestock and rodeo. Her hobbies are reading, horses, leathercraft and rodeo.
