Golf Tournament held to raise funds for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
Arlington Lodge of Elks # 1435 participated in a member and guest charity golf tournament on September 13th to raise funds for the Susan G .Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in conjunction with Rally for the Cure. There were 32 golfers making up 8 teams who played at the Wayland Country Club Golf Course. Several local businesses and individuals donated money or products, such as gift cards and sport paraphernalia towards the cause. Arlington Lodge of Elks #1435 was able to raise $2,000 for this great cause. One of the highlights of the day was Arlington member John Williams hit a “hole-in-one” on the designated hole. With this the Rally for the Cure Foundation will donate an additional $2,500 towards the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in his name.
In addition to this contribution to the Breast Cancer Awareness a donation of $500 will be made towards the Massachusetts Elks Scholarship fund.
