HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Last September 15th, we had our first ever Soccer Shoot. We had three kids particpate in the shoot. That might not seem like much, but for the first time, I think that it was a success. We learned a few things so next year's Soccer Shoot will be even bigger and better. At this time I would like to say thanks to all the members who helped out at the Soccer Shoot. Special thanks goes to Chairman Tom Hoop for the job he did in organizing the event and to Rick Phelps for making the goals.
On the same date in the evening, we had a fish fry and karaoke. To say it was a success would be an understatement. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled into the parking lot and found it full of cars. Walking into the Lodge, I saw that it was full of members too. Everybody was very happy about the dinner of fried fish and how good it was. After dinner there was karaoke in the bar. Once again, special thanks to all the volunteers and to our House Comittee Chairman Lorelei Aleno for the great job she did in putting it all together. We are going to have a special diner and karaoke at the Lodge every month.
On October 22, we will be having our annual District Deputy visit at our Lodge meeting. Please come out and support your officers as they perform the initiation ritual for our District Deputy. Also remember our Vice President's visit to the New Smyrna Beach lodge on October 13. Finally, I would like to see all of our new members on Fiesta Night at the Lodge on the 20th.
All of the above events would not have been possible without our volunteers. Thank you one and all. However, we could use more volunteers. If the only volunteers are the same members month after month, event after event, they will get burnt out. If those members get burned out-that means no more event. To keep this from happening, please come out and give us a hand. You can talk to Lorelei Aleno or me if you wish to volunteer.
