DELAND VETERANS PROGRAM
On the third Tuesday of every month, the Deland Elk’s #1463 has volunteers that go to Emory L Bennett Veterans home in Daytona Beach. We hold a Bingo game, where we assist the residents in playing bingo. There is a cash prize for each game. We serve refreshments, such as punch, cookies, brownies, and sometimes cake.
We always have a box at the Lodge for donations for the Veterans home. The items can be personal hygiene items, games, puzzles, and books. We also have a barrel at the Lodge for white socks & lap blankets, because once a year, around Christmas, we give our men & women Veterans socks and lap blankets.
We also hold a barbeque at the Veterans home once a year. A good time is always had by everyone. For the Veterans of Deland Lodge #1463 we serve a breakfast.
