JUNE'S EXALTED RULER'S MESSAGE

By now all of you have noticed our new bulletin design. This is the result of the hard work of Charlie and Mary Lou Waid. They took over the bulletin starting in April and I am sure you will agree that they are doing a fantastic job. The bulletin now has more information in it and is exciting to read. My thanks to both of you.
Our Esteemed Leading Knight Rick Phelps is putting on a Sock Hop. The date for it is Saturday, June 16th. There will be burgers and fries to eat, dancing, costume prizes, and Music by Warren. The best part of the evening is that the money Rick raises will be going to our Veterans. So plan on coming down to Lodge for an evening of fun and show your support not only for our Lodge but also for our Veterans.
We will have our Flag Day Service on June 14th, at 5:00 PM. The boy scouts will be there helping out and after the service, enjoy Joe Marmo's great spaghetti. If you have not tried it, you are missing a great dinner.
We have two District Vice President's Visitations this month. The first one is Saturday the 9th at Port Orange and the second one is Saturday the 30th at Palm Coast. In case you have not heard, our own Tom Pollard is the District Vice President for the up coming year. I would like to see a great turn out from our members at the visitations. Lets show the other Lodges that we are proud of Tom and of our Lodge.
I would like to thank Cheryl and Lori Aleno for serving us a great lunch at our Mother's Day Service. Instead of having sandwiches like I expected, we instead had a roast beef dinner. Thank you also to our house committee chairman Laura for being our bartender for the service. We had a real good time even though I was a little disappointed at the turn out. Only 17 members and guests, plus 5 officers showed up. I sure hope more members show up for our flag day service.
Our house committee is going to start having 50/50 raffles. They are trying to raise money for improvements around the lodge. The first one is for a new ice maker. The one we have in not even ours but on loan from Dave Thompson. I am sure after all this time he would like it back. He originally let us use it until we could get a new one but month after month after month has gone by and we still have not bought a ice maker. So next time you are down at the lodge and someone from the house committee is selling 50/50 tickets, please buy some and remember it is going for a good cause.

I hope to see you all at the lodge.
