SOUTHERN PINES, North Carolina (June 2, 2004) – Representing Marion Elks Lodge No. 32, Craig Bell shot a fine 72 hole stroke play score of 2 under par to finish in second place in the Championship Division at the 43rd Annual Elks National Invitational Amateur Golf Tournament. Hosted by Southern Pines Lodge 1692, the tournament was played May 19-22 over four courses in the Pinehurst area.
Nine golfers from the Marion Lodge participated. Angel Uribe finished fourth in the Second Flight, and Brad Smith finished second in the Sixth Flight. Other Marion participants were 41 year attendee Earl Laird, Larry Laird, Paul Bell, Frank Bellamy, Mark Jones and Mike Lust.
