On behalf of the Marion Elks Lodge No. 32, Mayor Jack Kellogg today issued a National Patriotism Week proclamation in a ceremony at his office in City Hall. The proclamation, authored by the Elks, was accepted by Mike Sykes, Esteemed Loyal Knight of the local fraternal organization.
The Elks believe that patriotism is contagious, and we can proudly but very simply demonstrate to all; our fortitude, our base belief, and our resolve for the American way of life by correctly flying the flag of the United States of America. The Elks have adopted the flag of our country as the symbol of charity, one of the cornerstones of the Elks philanthropic philosophy.
