On Wednesday, October 12th, West Shore Lodge was honored to host Grand Exalted Ruler Randy Shook.
GER Shook and his wife Wanda were in Central PA for the annual PA Elks Fall Convention. Taking a break from their convention duties, they, and their entourage, met with West Shore Elks.
The excited members included PER’s, former State Presidents, past Deputy District Grand Exalted Rulers, and Lodge officers.
After the obligatory group pictures, the honored guests ate a delicious meal provided by the outstanding Club staff.
One of the highlights of the evening was a lively rendition of “Auctioneer Song” by GER Shook, a former auctioneer himself.
During the tenured year of a Grand Exalted Ruler, the GER and his wife must visit each of the 50 states. This equates to almost an entire year of travel.
When speaking to Wanda Shook at the convention she commented, “West Shore Elks is a beautiful Lodge. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. We enjoyed our visit very much”.
Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped spruce up the Lodge, from the landscaping crew weeding and mulching, David Berrios shampooing all the carpets, Paul Kearny power washing the exterior and cleaning windows in the Lounge, Lola Henry decorating both outside and inside and the Activities committee who helped decorate the Lounge. When we all work together, we can achieve amazing results.
